Blue Dot – Space for children and families
The Slovak Humanitarian Council in cooperation with UNHCR and UNICEF created the Blue Dot Safe Space – Protection and Support Centres for Refugees.
In Blue Dot, you can get the necessary information, support and referrals for health care, education, psychosocial support and more – all in one place.
The services at Blue Dot centres are intended to help all refugees. We pay special attention to children and the most vulnerable groups of people such as single parents with children, people with disabilities, potential victims of human trafficking, people with experience of violence and LGBTQI+ people.
The Space for children and families offers:
- Psychosocial support
- Humanitarian services – case management
- Consultations with health professionals
- Advice on available social services
- Facilitating contact with other experts (doctors, psychologists, speech therapists, etc.)
- Information on help from the state or international organizations for families in difficult life situations
- Information on legal procedures and preparation of legal documents concerning children
- Individual and group work with children and parents
- Running a support group for parents
- Educational courses for children
- Fun and educational games, useful leisure activities for children
- Legal advice
- Registration of financial support from UNHCR and UNICEF
- Humanitarian aid for endangered groups

Blue Dot – Information and Counselling Centre
Blue Dot also includes information and counselling centres where we provide the following services:
- Assistance in dealing with your legal residence in the territory of the Slovak Republic (temporary protection, international protection, asylum, additional protection, temporary residence, permanent residence, cancellation of temporary protection)
- Assistance with looking for a job in the territory of the Slovak Republic, basic information on your rights and obligations
- Information on education system in Slovakia
- Advice regarding social security in the territory of the Slovak Republic
- Information on health care in Slovakia
- Assistance with registration for public or commercial health insurance
- Assistance and counselling for long-term patients
- Assistance and interpreting during medical examinations and job interviews
- Assistance in looking for accommodation
- Psychosocial support

Mobile teams
Blue Dot also includes mobile teams that will come to see you. Our mobile team can provide you with the following types of assistance:
- Support in crisis situations, psychological help for adults and children
- Psychological first aid and psychological support
- Social support and services
- Medical advice, online communication with doctors, providing recommendations to other specialists
- Providing informational materials
- Legal advice
- Registration of financial support from UNHCR and UNICEF
- Humanitarian aid for endangered groups

- The entrance is barrier-free.
- The services are also provided by female staff.
- There are easily accessible toilets separated by gender in the facility.
